No, the Florida-Georgia game is not in Jacksonville this year. The Gators and the Bulldogs play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, while EverBank Stadium is rebuilt. It is the first time the two teams have met in Atlanta in a series dating back to 1915, the University of Florida says. The game moves to Tampa in 2027 and returns to Jacksonville in 2028.
Key dates
- 2026: Saturday, Oct. 31, 3:30 p.m. ET, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
- 2027: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
- 2028 to 2031: back in Jacksonville at the renovated stadium
Why it moved
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ home is being renovated into what the team calls the “Stadium of the Future.” In November 2024, the City of Jacksonville and both universities agreed that the game would leave for two seasons, Atlanta in 2026 and Tampa in 2027, and return for 2028 through 2031. The University of Florida set out the same plan when the deal was announced.
In the city’s Sept. 15 announcement, Mayor Donna Deegan said, “Jacksonville has served as the stage for the Georgia-Florida rivalry since 1933,” and that the city looks forward to “welcoming the rivalry back to Jacksonville in 2028.”
What Jacksonville still hosts this year
The city’s Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame goes on, but in Atlanta too: the induction ceremony and luncheon is at noon Friday, Oct. 30, at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, the city says. This year’s inductees are Brandon Boykin and Andre Hastings of Georgia and Maurkice Pouncey and Emmitt Smith of Florida. Tickets are sold through gafljax.com.
The city has not announced any game-week events in Jacksonville for 2026, and with no game here there are no game-day road closures around the stadium on Oct. 31.
