City projects
The city’s biggest construction job is the $105.4 million McCoys Creek restoration west of downtown. The city’s most recent update, dated Jan. 16, said a section of the Northbank Riverwalk at the creek’s outfall near the Acosta Bridge was closed and would be replaced, that work on the creek’s headwaters, The Branches, from Edison Avenue to Burke Street Pond was to begin in February, and that the new, raised Stockton Street Bridge with a bike lane and sidewalks was scheduled to reopen in spring 2026. The city’s page had no newer update when we checked Oct. 15, so we could not confirm whether the bridge has reopened. Check the city’s page for current status.
Other city projects are tracked on the Mayor’s capital improvement projects dashboard. Residents can petition the city’s Engineering and Construction Management Division (904-255-8762) for curb and gutter or dirt road paving.
