The Memorial Day observance

The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall, 1145 E. Adams St., next to EverBank Stadium, honors more than 1,700 Jacksonville-area service members who died from World War I through the War on Terror, according to the city’s Veterans Memorial Wall page. Each Memorial Day, Gold Star families, veterans, military leaders, elected officials and residents gather there, and new names are added to the wall.

The ceremony is run by the city’s Military Affairs and Veterans Department and is free and open to the public. The 2027 time had not been posted when we checked; watch the city’s events calendar. In 2026 the observance was held on the morning of Monday, May 25.
