Election Day: your polling place
On Nov. 3 you must vote at your assigned precinct. Look it up with the state’s voter look-up or the “Where Do I Vote” link on the Supervisor of Elections site, which also posts a notice of polling place changes. Check before you go.
Voting by mail
- Ask for a mail ballot by Oct. 22 from the Supervisor of Elections in person, by phone or by signed written request, including online.
- Your ballot must be received by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3. A postmark does not count, the Division of Elections says.
- Return it by mail, at an early voting site’s drop box during early voting, or at the elections office.
- Sign the envelope. If the signature is missing or doesn’t match, the office will contact you about a cure affidavit.
- Changed your mind? Bring the mail ballot to your polling place and vote in person.
What ID to bring
Florida requires a current, valid photo ID with a signature at early voting and on Election Day. Accepted IDs include a Florida driver’s license or state ID card, a U.S. passport, a debit or credit card, military, student, retirement center, neighborhood association or public assistance ID, a VA health card, a concealed weapon license, or a government employee ID. If your photo ID has no signature, bring a second ID that does. Without proper ID you can vote a provisional ballot, which counts if your signature matches your registration record.
